About Us
Deb and Barry are 'foodies' and proud of of it.
Eating out should be a pleasure, and we have been lucky enough to eat in some of the UK's top restaurants.
Having met in the hospitality industry and worked within it for far too many years than we care to mention, we wanted to bring our experience in providing high end dining to the small Crowborough table.

I am a classically trained chef with over 40 years experience, working from small boutique restaurants to large busy hotels. Since 1998,I have been running my own outside catering company under the name of Comfort Foods.
Over the years, I have enjoyed cooking for my clients weddings, birthday parties, and family events, and still do.
From this, and teaching our 2 daughters to cook, I realised the joy of teaching others and created Crowborough Cookery School, where I teach small groups and individuals to cook in our home.

Barry has been a hotel manager for over 30 years, working in internationally renowned high end hotels and local hotels in Tunbridge Wells, Haywards Heath and Groombridge. After a change in career, he took a step back from catering, trading it in for a 9-5 less stressful desk job, though he still misses the buzz of a dinner service, and meeting new customers.

Like so many others, 2020 changed everything.
The pandemic created the time for us to formulate new and exciting ideas, both on the plate and in our re vamped kitchen. We are now expanding my already successful ventures to include exciting new horizons; Crows Nest Supper Club, will be under the Comfort Foods umbrella.

Crows Nest Supper Club is an amalgamation of both my love of growing and cooking and, in using Barry's excellent front of house skills, we will ensure your dining experience will be as good as we can possibly make it.

The Supper Club uses many of my own vegetables mostly grown in my Herne Road allotment, and I try to source local suppliers and use "in season" UK produce, if possible.
We look forwards to welcoming you to our Crowborough table.
"Debs turns cooking into an art-form. The courses look beautiful and taste delicious.
Every detail of the menu has had a lot of thought and received a lot of love to create a stylish and tasty experience."
